Working Student – TinyML & Edge AI (m/f/d)
At SWARM Biotactics , we're creating biorobots — living, intelligent systems based on insects. Each insect carries a custom-designed backpack that enables wireless control, sensing, and secure communication.
Biorobot swarms combine the agility of biology with AI, sensors, and swarm coordination — unlocking capabilities where conventional machines fail.
We are the only company in the world doing this — and we're pushing the edge of what's possible across biology, embedded systems, AI, and swarm intelligence.
🤖The Role
Understanding and modelling the environment is a key challenge for the next generation of autonomous biorobotic systems.
By enabling our systems to perceive and interpret their surroundings, we empower both individual agents and entire swarms to make intelligent decisions in real time.
We are looking for a motivated and driven Working Student (full- or part-time) to help expand our TinyML capabilities on highly resource-constrained embedded platforms.
You will improve existing perception pipelines, migrate capabilities from other systems, and develop entirely new ones. We strongly encourage ownership and experimentation — if you have ideas for novel capabilities, you'll have the opportunity to implement and test them.
You'll work at the intersection of machine learning, embedded systems, and robotics, deploying models under memory, compute, and power constraints.
Most importantly, you'll own projects from concept to deployment and see your work running on real-world biorobotic systems.
