ALBA Robot’s Engineering team develops and integrates our autonomous mobility platform, enabling innovative services in facilities such as airports, hospitals, and museums worldwide.

We are looking for an experienced electrical/electronic technician/ engineer with a strong hands-on attitude, capable of coordinating electrical, electronic, and mechanical aspects of our vehicles. The ideal candidate combines design understanding, supplier interaction, and field-level operational skills, contributing to the reliability and scalability of our technology.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the electrical and electronic architecture of our vehicles, ensuring consistency between design, BOM, and implementation
• Manage and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM), including both electrical/electronic and relevant mechanical components, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production needs
• Interface with suppliers for PCBs, electronic components, mechanical parts and cable routing services, supporting technical clarifications and issue resolution
• Validate PCB designs provided by external suppliers, including schematic and layout review, manufacturability, and integration with system and mechanical constraints
• Perform modifications on CAD/EDA tools (schematics and PCB layouts) and support basic mechanical CAD updates when needed
• Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic components directly on vehicles and prototypes
• Support integration of electrical systems with mechanical assemblies, ensuring proper routing, mounting, thermal management, and accessibility
• Perform hands-on activities on vehicles, including installation, rework, and adjustment of both electronic and mechanical components
• Identify and resolve issues in the field, including those related to mechanical integration and robustness
• Contribute to continuous improvement of electrical and mechanical design, documentation, and production processes

Qualifications and education requirements:

• Qualified electrical/electronic/mechatronics expert or Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering
• Good knowledge of English and Italian
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a practical and solution-oriented mindset
• Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
• Organizational skills, especially in documentation and configuration management (e.g., BOM control)
• Hands-on attitude and willingness to work directly on hardware and mechanical assemblies

Technical skills:

• Experience with EDA/ECAD tools (e.g., KiCad, Altium, Eagle, or similar)
• Ability to read and review electrical schematics and PCB layouts
• Experience in managing and structuring BOMs for complex electromechanical systems
• Basic knowledge of mechanical design and CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks or similar)
• Understanding of mechanical integration constraints (mounting, tolerances, vibrations, thermal aspects, cable routing)
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and common design constraints
• Familiarity with electrical testing tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, power supplies, etc.)
• Preferably: experience in debugging hardware issues and supporting prototype validation in real-world environments
