About Promethion Industries
Promethion Industries is a European defence technology company building autonomous supremacy systems for aerial and multi-domain operations.
We develop:
- AI-driven autonomous pilot systems
- Complementary software-defined RF and sensing architectures
- Multi-spectrum seeker systems (EO / IR / RF / Radar / Acoustic / Morphic sensing)
- High-performance reference platforms for contested environments (primarily aerial systems)
Our mission is to enable decisive autonomy for NATO-aligned forces — not through incremental improvements, but through tightly integrated autonomy stacks designed and built in Europe.
Our long-term trajectory spans:
- Aerial combat autonomy
- Autonomous maritime and overland systems
- Software-defined defence infrastructure
- Advanced robotics and space-adjacent autonomy systems
We do not build isolated vehicles. We build high-performance system blueprints — validated through rapid iteration and continuous field testing.
We are developing the intelligence layer for autonomous deterrence.
Our focus is defensive and counter-system capabilities, including anti-UAS and resilient autonomy under contested conditions.
Your Mission
Architect and co-design the autonomous flight stack that powers Promethion’s aerial systems.
You will own elements of guidance, navigation, control, and mission-level autonomy required for high-speed interception and autonomous engagement in contested environments.
Your work will directly enable:
- Autonomous target pursuit
- Multi-sensor integration in closed-loop control
- High-dynamic interception
Responsibilities
(Selection)
- Define and implement autonomy architectures for high-performance aerial systems
- Design real-time guidance, navigation, and control systems for dynamic interception
- Integrate perception outputs (vision, IR, RF, radar, etc.) into hybrid closed-loop pipelines
- Develop nonlinear control strategies, pursuit guidance laws, and model predictive control frameworks
- Research and implement robust sensor fusion under deterministic and non-deterministic sensing
- Iterate in simulation environments (SITL, HIL, Unreal Engine, JSBSim, custom tooling)
You will operate at architectural level while remaining hands-on. We validate frequently and work close to the metal.
Required Qualifications
(Selection)
- 3+ years in robotics, aerospace systems, or real-time autonomy
- Strong foundation in control theory (nonlinear systems, state-space control, LQR, MPC)
- Deep experience with flight control stacks (PX4 or comparable systems)
- Strong C++ and/or Rust, plus Python
- Experience with ROS2 and real-time robotics frameworks
- Practical sensor fusion and high-speed state estimation experience
- Demonstrated ability to bring systems from simulation to hardware
- Comfort working in mission-critical or safety-constrained environments
- Ability to operate in high-ambiguity, rapid-build environments
You must be comfortable making architectural decisions, not only implementing predefined modules.
Strongly Preferred
- Experience in high-performance research environments (e.g., ETH Zürich, EPFL, TU Munich, or equivalent)
- Exposure to neuromorphic sensing, event-based vision, spiking neural networks, or low-latency embedded AI
- Experience with high-speed or high-dynamic UAV systems
- Reinforcement learning applied to robotics or control of UAS
- Multi-sensor fusion under degraded conditions (jamming, spoofing, strong EW, adverse weather)
- Experience in defence or aerospace integration environments
- Familiarity with software assurance or certification considerations (e.g., DO-178)
- Experience integrating heterogeneous sensing and command systems
Who You Are
- Deep in autonomy/control, broad in systems thinking
- Theoretically grounded and practically experienced
- Comfortable debugging close to hardware
- Motivated by building meaningful systems with real operational relevance
What You Will Help Build
(Selection)
- AI-based autonomous pilot architectures
