Key Result Areas
Checking and confirming all FX / MM deals in the system in order to reflect all transactions in the book.
Central Bank BRFs submission preparation with treasury data.
Monitoring and checking the currency position of the branches to advise covering the exchange position.
Control of FX / MM limits to ensure the dealers are not exceeding the limits.
Checking exchange and deposit rates so as to ensure that correct rate are provided to the customers.
Matching all Forex bank deals with customer deals to avoid any exchange position.
Monitoring limits and accounting of Precious Metal transactions in order to ensure that all entries are recorded in the book of accounts correctly and within the approved limit.
Checking Parity Tolerance Report of Currencies in order to prevent occurrences of wrong Exchange rates or loss.
Monitoring daily exchange profit / loss which helps in pointing out any mistakes as regards to wrong rates.
Nostro Management helps in covering exchange positions, keeping a check on the entries posted by other Departments and Branches and to avoid overdrawing of account.
Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries, Working Relationships
The primary responsibilities include covering of Nostros, monitoring and reporting excesses of FX and MM limits and controlling Treasury transactions with the objective of increasing Nostro profitability. Timely information is most important. Due to system constraints, utmost care has to be taken to avoid manual errors.
The jobs are done as per the policies and guidelines laid down in the TOC Manual and perhaps the procedures may change if there is a change / modification in the system.
As his job includes covering of Nostro, it requires him to have cordial relationship with Operations Division and Local and Overseas branches. To maintain good relations with Dealers is also vital.
Graduate from a reputed university
7-10 years' experience in a similar field with a medium sized bank having large Treasury Operations.
Strong MS Excel.
Good command over spoken and written English.
Analytical ability and communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
