POSITION MANDATE
The Technical Representative is responsible for the assembly, wiring, installation, commissioning, and support of RAYHAWK systems. This role bridges manufacturing, field deployment, and product development by ensuring RAYHAWK electrical systems are built to standard, installed correctly, and continuously improved through documentation and feedback. Applicant must be able to travel to customer sites across Canada and internationally to install and commission RAYHAWK systems.
The role also owns the development of installation manuals, troubleshooting guides, and electrical standards, ensuring scalability and repeatability of RAYHAWK systems across customers and projects. The Technical Representative will report to the Electrical Lead.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Manufacturing & Assembly
· Perform electrical wiring of control panels, junction boxes, and system components
· Install and terminate sensors, actuators, motors, and instrumentation
· Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs
· Ensure builds meet internal quality standards and electrical codes
· Support panel layout, cable routing, and component selection improvements
· Conduct pre-shipment inspections and functional testing
Field Installation & Commissioning
· Travel to customer sites to install and commission RAYHAWK systems across Canada and Internationally
· Integrate systems with customer infrastructure (power, plc, communication electrical networks)
· Perform system startup, calibration, and validation
· Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues during installation and operation
· Provide hands-on support to customers and subcontractors during deployment
· Ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification
· Ensure customers are properly trained on installation, operation, and basic troubleshooting, reducing ongoing support load
Troubleshooting & Service
· Diagnose and resolve electrical, sensor, and control system issues
· Support remote and on-site troubleshooting for deployed systems
· Identify root causes and implement corrective actions
· Feed recurring issues back into design and manufacturing improvements
· Support maintenance procedures and service documentation
Documentation & Standardization
· Help Develop and maintain: Installation manuals, wiring standards, troubleshooting guides, commissioning procedures
· Create clear, step-by-step instructions for internal teams and customers
· Document lessons learned from field deployments and failures
· Support development of scalable “plug-and-play” system documentation
· Ensure documentation evolves alongside product changes
· Create consistent training materials and processes so every deployment is delivered the same way
R&D & Product Development Support
· Support prototyping and testing of new electrical designs and components
· Assist engineers with system validation and experimentation
· Provide feedback on design for manufacturability and installability
· Help develop modular electrical architectures for future systems
· Participate in continuous improvement of system reliability and simplicity
Safety & Compliance
· Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety standards
· Follow and promote RAYHAWK safety policies in shop and field environments
· Identify and mitigate electrical risks during installation and operation
Education & Experience
Journeyperson Electrician, or equivalent. 3–10+ years of relevant experience. Experience in industrial systems, automation, or controls preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of: Electrical wiring and control panels, automation sensors, motors, relays, VFDs, and basic PLC integration. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics. Experience with commissioning and troubleshooting industrial automation systems. Familiarity with low-voltage and industrial power systems.
