Role Overview

Do you want to be a part of reshaping the travel ecosystem? We’re looking for a highly motivated Technical Owner to take end-to-end ownership of a defined product and technical domain within Nuitée’s platform.

Reporting to an Engineering Manager, this role sits at the intersection of product intent and technical execution. You will own the technical design, implementation and ongoing evolution of systems across areas such as payments, services, booking flows, distribution optimization or partner tooling. You will work closely with Product to translate requirements into robust, scalable solutions, while remaining deeply hands-on in the codebase.

This is a senior individual contributor role with clear ownership, influence and accountability – ideal for engineers who want to shape architecture and outcomes without formal people management.

Main Responsibilities

Technical Ownership and Delivery

• Act as the technical owner for a defined product domain, owning architecture, system design and implementation decisions.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of features from technical discovery through production release and iteration.
• Design and build scalable, reliable backend systems, APIs and services that support core product workflows.
• Ensure technical solutions balance short-term delivery with long-term platform health and extensibility.

Collaboration and Cross-functional Alignment

• Partner closely with product managers to refine requirements, clarify scope and identify technical trade-offs.
• Participate in product discovery, helping shape solutions through a strong technical and systems perspective.
• Collaborate with data, science, design and operations teams to deliver complete, well-integrated solutions.
• Clearly communicate technical constraints, risks and dependencies to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.

Engineering Excellence

• Lead by example through high-quality code, thoughtful reviews and strong documentation.
• Champion best practices around texting, observability, security and performance within your domain.
• Proactively identify and address technical debt, scalability risks and operational gaps.
• Support incident investigation and resolution, ensuring systems are resilient and well-understood.

Team Enablement

• Mentor and support other engineers in the team through design reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing.
• Provide technical input to planning, estimation and prioritization, alongside the Engineering Manager.
• Help raise the overall technical bar of the team through constructive feedback and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software, with proven ownership of complex backend or platform systems,
• Strong experience building API-driven, distributed systems in a B2B, marketplace or SaaS environment.
• Deep hands-on experience in backend development (Go and JavaScript preferred) and service-oriented architecture.
• Experience working on real-time data systems, domains such as payments, pricing, inventory, or booking.
