Speedata is modernizing analytics infrastructure with the first purpose-built ASIC processor, the Analytics Processing Unit (APU), for analytics and AI data workloads. Delivering up to 100x faster Apache Spark performance while cutting infrastructure TCO by 90%, the APU executes analytics operations directly in silicon with seamless integration and no code changes.
We're looking for a hands-on Team Leader to own and drive the Technical Operations function at a critical inflection point for the company.
This is a player-coach role you will both manage the team day-to-day and personally execute on high-priority tasks.
You will be the primary interface between Field Engineering, R&D, and Operations, ensuring that customer-facing and internal technical work moves forward without friction.
Requirements:
Proven experience managing, leading, or officially mentoring a technical team in a fast-paced environment.
3+ years of hands-on experience in system-level testing, hardware validation, lab engineering, or technical operations (ideally within a semiconductor, hardware startup, or complex systems company).
Strong proficiency in Linux server environments, command-line troubleshooting, and test automation/scripting.
Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to interface effectively between deep-technical R&D teams, customer-facing Field Engineers, and management.
Familiarity with Jira (or similar ticketing tools) and experience managing hardware inventories across multiple active projects.
Highly self-directed, analytical, and capable of operating with minimal oversight to drive complex root-cause analyses.
Fluency in Hebrew and English.
Education - BSc in Electronics Engineering / Associate Engineer with proven record in lab and technicians management
Responsibilities:
Lead the Tech-Ops / Systems Integration team on a daily basis: prioritize, assign, unblock, and oversee tech ops tasks
Act as the primary technical bridge for incoming Field Engineering escalation tickets (via Jira). Diagnose complex issues, determine whether they belong to Tech-Ops or core R&D, and route them accordingly.
Manage the team’s assignments board and agile processes to ensure visibility, accountability, and timely resolution of tasks across all workstreams.
Manage Hardware Logistics: Oversee APU/PCIe card inventory, including allocation, configuration, tracking, and shipping for internal R&D and external Proof of Concept (PoC) deployments.
Characterization - Run R&D experiments to learn and understand the capabilities and limitations of the APU/PCIe products.
Lead and coordinate hardware certification tasks, and maintain up-to-date team documentation, testing protocols, and troubleshooting runbooks.
Work hands-on with PCIe cards, physical servers, and other lab hardware. Lead APU/PCIe cards testing, environmental stress testing, and hardware characterization.
Work confidently in complex Linux environments—navigate file systems, manage containerized deployments, run and monitor long-duration test workloads, analyze logs, and configure server setups from the command line.
Execute, maintain, and improve automated test scripts and internal QA tooling used to validate APU-based systems and APIs (leveraging AI tools to accelerate development).
Identify, isolate, and characterize deep system-level issues - accurately distinguishing between hardware faults, OS/environment configuration problems, driver/firmware bugs, and core software defects.
Support hands-on performance tuning, profiling customer workloads, and validating new use cases to ensure the technology runs flawlessly in live environments.
