The Science Careers & Experience Centre is dedicated to helping students develop professional competencies, gain experience, build networks, and design their careers, enabling them to leverage their education and create an authentic future. Our goal is to empower students by equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive as they transition from their studies to the next chapter of their professional journey.
Working with Business + Higher Education Roundtable, we are starting a new project called The Science Communication Career Test Drive Program. We are looking for an experienced career education professional with demonstrated success in developing employer-university partnerships for work-integrated learning and experiential learning. In this project you will be engaging current and new partners who hire for science communication roles to engage in this exciting new project where we are engaging employers to co-create a talent pipeline for science communication.
This is a temporary position for approximately 4 months.
Job Summary:
Responsible for strategically planning, identifying, developing and cultivating employer relationships in the global business community to develop employment and experiential opportunities for students and alumni. This role will organize a centralized approach to employer development across campus to support collaboration and seamless employer experience and act as a key
McMaster contact with external employment advisory boards, economic development organizations, municipalities, chambers of commerce and other labour associations to represent the University and gather market information.
