System Administrator (MS Endpoint, Power BI, Apache & Kaspersky)

Location: Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria

Duration: One-year contract (Renewable)

Role Overview

We are seeking highly skilled System Administrators to join our client’s infrastructure team in Lagos and Abuja. This role is pivotal in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of the client’s enterprise applications and server environments. You will be responsible for managing a diverse tech stack including MS Endpoint Configuration Manager, Power BI Pro, Apache, and Kaspersky Security, while driving ITIL-based best practices in capacity and availability management.

Technical Proficiencies

The ideal candidate must demonstrate expert-level competency in:

• Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM): Deployment and desired state configuration.
• Power BI Pro: Dashboard creation, reporting, and administration.
• Apache Web Server: Configuration, optimization, and maintenance.
• Kaspersky Security: Enterprise-level anti-virus setup and administration.
• Virtualization: Setup, administration, and optimization within a Data Centre environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Capacity & Availability Management

• Monitor workloads and report on capacity requirements to scale server and storage needs.
• Recommend system configurations to optimize resource utilization and resolve bottlenecks.
• Develop and maintain an Availability Plan , utilizing dashboards to track and report on system uptime.
• Apply preventive maintenance and OEM program fixes to ensure 24/7 system reliability.

2. Configuration & Software Management

• Implement Desired State Configuration (DSC) for both Windows Server and End-User environments.
• Maintain a definitive software library and document all interrelationships between production, test, and development environments.
• Evaluate, recommend, and implement software upgrades, patches, and temporary fixes.
• Manage release versions in accordance with agreed Service Level Objectives (SLO) and release processes.

3. Applications Architecture & Support

• Analyze performance, integration, and security requirements for new systems.
• Contribute to the Architecture Blueprint and strategic roadmaps (Private/Hybrid/Public Cloud).
• Conduct assessments of End-of-Life (EOL) equipment and provide virtualization recommendations.
• Assist development teams with technical planning and provide ITIL-based policy guidance.

4. Systems Operations & Security

• Execute routine Vulnerability Assessments and patch management cycles.
• Manage enterprise-wide antivirus administration (Kaspersky) and remediate audit findings.
• Support Disaster Recovery (DR) activities, including site switches and drills.
• Perform quarterly performance analysis to ensure systems remain operationally stable under high transaction volumes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven experience in System Administration within a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices.
• Ability to produce high-level (HLD) and low-level (LLD) technical designs.
• Excellent analytical skills for performance tuning and systems enhancement.
• Proactive mindset regarding new hardware/software developments and industry trends.
