About the Role:

We’re looking for a senior-level Structural Engineer with strong software development experience to help us build tools that power the next generation of engineering, design, and construction. You’ll be working at the intersection of the built environment and advanced computation, developing AI systems that integrate structural logic, simulation workflows, and data intelligence.

This role is ideal for someone who understands both physical structures and digital systems and is passionate about building robust, intelligent software for real-world engineering challenges.

What You'll Do:

• Translate structural engineering requirements into software logic and services.
• Encode structural load distribution, analysis, and calculation logic into robust software features.
• Work with 3D geometry, BIM tools, or simulation engines as needed.
• Design and develop scalable backend systems using Python.
• Build and integrate APIs, algorithms, and database architectures for structural analysis and data management.
• Develop services that connect structural logic with AI-driven design workflows.
• Drive backend architecture decisions and best practices for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product managers to digitise design workflows.

What You Bring:

• Formal education in structural engineering.
• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with structural load distribution, analysis, and calculation methods.
• Ability to translate structural logic into computational or algorithmic representations.
• 4+ years of experience building backend systems using Python.
• Strong computer science foundations: data structures, algorithms, OOP, and software design principles.
• Experience designing, implementing and maintaining complex backend features and services.
• Familiarity with building APIs, working with databases, and developing scalable backend architectures.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in the MEP discipline
• Familiarity with AWS and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience integrating structural or simulation software (e.g., Rhino/Grasshopper, Revit, Tekla).
• Familiarity with 3D graphics, computational geometry, or OCR tools.
• Exposure to AI/ML, particularly around LLMs, model integration, or graph-based systems.
• Experience building engineering tools or platform-level systems.
