About the Role

Job Title: Staff Engineer
Location: Stockholm, Stockholm County, Sweden

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex systems, including data processing pipelines, APIs, and client integrations critical to clinician workflows.
• Architect and scale cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
• Set technical direction and standards through hands-on work, thoughtful design, and clear documentation.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including clinicians and designers, to ensure the right problems are being solved with the right solutions.
• Guide technical decisions across backend and frontend systems, including Python, TypeScript, React, and Kubernetes.
• Mentor and support engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and strategic guidance.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement in engineering practices, tooling, and code quality.

Qualifications

• A track record of leading technical projects end-to-end in a fast-moving product environment.
• Deep experience building and deploying scalable backend systems.
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure and distributed systems, with a strong product mindset focused on impact.
• A bias toward ownership, proactivity, and collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence engineering and product decisions.

Bonus Points

• Hands-on experience with LLM-based applications.
• Experience with streaming audio, transcription systems, or real-time media pipelines.
• Experience building authentication servers and systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes and Azure.
• Open-source contributions or thought leadership within engineering communities.
• Experience in health-tech, including designing FHIR/HL7 compliant systems.
• Proficiency with modern frontend technologies, especially TypeScript and React.
