Role Overview

As a Staff AI Engineer , you are the core architectural leader responsible for scaling Saturn’s AI platform to support multi-person contribution, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

This role moves beyond ownership of a single feature. You will define the strategic, long-term technical direction for our core systems—the orchestration, evaluation, and data governance layers—that enable dozens of different AI features to be built concurrently without degrading overall quality. You will tackle the hardest, most ambiguous technical challenges, acting as a technical force multiplier across the entire engineering organization, driven by a deep care for the systems' robustness and the customer's experience.

What You Have

• 8+ years of progressive experience in ML/software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on architecting, deploying, and operating scaled production systems powered by AI or Machine Learning.
• Platform-Level Scaling Experience: Proven track record of designing and scaling robust agentic or multi-component LLM systems (e.g., managing complex RAG systems, model composition, and explicit orchestration frameworks) for concurrent development across multiple teams.
• Deep Systems Thinking: Expertise in distributed systems, high-volume backend architecture (Python mastery required), and designing systems for auditability and compliance in regulated environments.
