Location: Remote, minimum 50% travel- This position can expect to travel to client facilities throughout North America up to 50% of the time. We're starting with Food & Beverage—one of the most challenging and energy-demanding sectors. With our ATLAS platform and Energy AI tools, we're helping facilities across North America cut costs, improve reliability, and drastically reduce emissions. As a , you'll take your deep technical knowledge out into the field, installing and commissioning advanced electrical and control systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring facilities run at peak performance. You'll have a front-row seat to the transformation of industrial refrigeration while working hands-on with cutting-edge automation, collaborating with skilled teammates, and training customers to get the most from our tech. This role reports directly to our Refrigeration Engineer Manager and offers immediate impact, nationwide travel, and the opportunity to shape the future of cold storage operations. - Travel to customer sites (Minimum 50% of the time) throughout North America to perform installation of electrical equipment and control systems - Train customers (onsite and remotely by phone) on product use, features, and system maintenance - Work closely with our software and R&D team to build and improve CrossnoKaye's products, including improved refrigeration control systems - Provide maintenance support as necessary to ensure operational objectives are met. Other areas of knowledge, including but not exclusive to: ammonia refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC programming. - Provides guidance and expertise in Ammonia systems to the CrossnoKaye science and software team. - Installs new electrical equipment in existing Ammonia refrigeration plants - Identify and scope requirements for ammonia system upgrades, including basic cost estimation, technical requirements, and supervision / QA of third party contractors to complete work, as well as associated timeline estimates. - Troubleshoots new control systems and communicates issues back to the CrossnoKaye science and software team - Defines and sets up ideal operational settings and parameters for all refrigeration equipment (i.e. superheat, regulators, pressure settings, defrost cycles, determining and recording sensor scaling parameters etc.) - Proactively monitor system performance, and take appropriate actions to ensure that the system is operating optimally - Maintains up to date documentation and reporting as needed - Provides in-depth troubleshooting of refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and controls systems to root cause and recommends corrective action - Shares knowledge, and assists in the training and development of less experienced - technicians/engineers - Performs related work and other job assignments as required - 8+ years of Ammonia refrigeration system experience in service environment - Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, but not required - Knowledge of Ammonia systems, including control systems, repair/maintenance, operations, startup, design, and electrical configuration. - Completion of industry-recognized Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration training (Stellar, Frick,GCAP/Lanier or employer comparable training program), equivalent in scope will be considered - RETA CIRO certification preferred - Required to successfully complete assigned Industrial Refrigeration and Mechanical-Electrical courses - Troubleshooting and repairs with differing control systems Opto22/Allen Bradley etc. - Required to be trained in HAZMAT, obtain and maintain the certification - Computerized Maintenance Management System experience preferred - Basic computer skills required (email, internet searches, basic data entry, etc.) - Ability to read and interpret piping, instrumentation diagram (P&ID), and electrical drawings - Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Docs/Sheets knowledge - Valid driver's license and safe driving record - Successful completion of a background check - Minimum 50% travel, including working outside of normal business hours and weekends The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This role also qualifies for a company-wide bonus and field pay - an additional cash component for travel to customer sites. With base salary, bonus, and field pay combined, total cash compensation may range from approximately $140K-165K. Final compensation is determined by several factors including prior experience, skills, and alignment with the role.
