Alpenglow Biosciences, Inc., is leading the 3D Spatial Revolution and we are seeking a motivated and talented individual for the key position of Sr. Manager/Director of Field Service and Engineering Operations. The Sr. Manager/Director of Field Service and Engineering Operations will lead the service and operations function supporting Alpenglow’s Aurora 3Di Hybrid Open-Top Light-Sheet (HOTLS) fluorescent microscope installed base and overseeing manufacturing and deployment of new systems to meet growing customer demand. This role ensures that existing customers receive exceptional installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting support while new instruments are built, tested, and delivered on time and to specification.
This leader will manage, train, mentor, and develop a small but growing technical team, initially including one staff engineer and one field service engineer, while building processes and documentation that scale as the installed base expands. Responsibilities include prioritizing and dispatching field service activities, coordinating factory builds and FAT/SAT, driving continuous improvement in uptime and customer satisfaction, and serving as an escalation point for complex technical issues across optics, mechanics, electronics, and software.
The position is full-time, on-site, and highly cross-functional, working closely with R&D, manufacturing, sales, and customer success to translate customer feedback into product and process improvements. The selected candidate will be eligible for a competitive compensation package including base salary, variable incentive, and stock, along with health, dental, and 401(k) benefits. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Sponsorship is not available for this role.
Education required: PhD in Physics, Optics, Biomedical Engineering or other related disciplines. Experience building advanced microscopy tools like light-sheet or two photon microscopy a plus.
The Salary Range for this position is $130,000 to $145,000 per year.
