The position is full-time, on-site, and highly cross-functional, working closely with R&D, manufacturing, sales, and customer success to translate customer feedback into product and process improvements. The selected candidate will be eligible for a competitive compensation package including base salary, variable incentive, and stock, along with health, dental, and 401(k) benefits. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. Education required:  PhD in Physics, Optics, Biomedical Engineering or other related disciplines. Experience building advanced microscopy tools like light-sheet or two photon microscopy a plus.

The Salary Range for this position is $130,000 to $145,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead field service and engineering operations for the Aurora 3Di HOTLS installed base and new system deployments.​
• Manage, train, mentor, and develop the engineering team (staff engineer and field service engineer), including hiring as the team grows.​
• Plan, prioritize, and dispatch field service activities (installations, PMs, repairs, upgrades) to meet uptime and response-time targets.​
• Oversee manufacturing, assembly, and test of new Aurora 3Di instruments, including FAT/SAT and release to customers.​
• Establish and improve standard operating procedures, service documentation, and troubleshooting guides for the instrument.​
• Serve as technical escalation point for complex system issues spanning optics, mechanics, electronics, and software.​
• Track and report key performance metrics (uptime, MTTR, customer satisfaction) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.​
• Collaborate closely with R&D, manufacturing, sales, and customer success to channel field feedback into product and process improvements.
