Tes responsabilités

• Développer, améliorer et/ou implémenter des méthodes pour l’amélioration de la qualité des données de télédétection,
• Développer, améliorer et/ou implémenter des algorithmes pour l’extraction d’information à partir de différentes sources de données aéroportées, satellitaires et auxiliaires,
• Développer, améliorer et/ou implémenter des méthodes pour la validation des processus et produits,
• Collaborer avec des partenaires et clients à l’échelle nationale et internationale.

Ton profil

Éducation Un doctorat en télédétection, physique, science de la terre, géographie ou des disciplines liées à l’observation de la terre. Une maitrise avec un minimum de 3 ans d’expérience sera aussi considérée.

Expérience Et Compétences

• Très bonne expérience en hyperspectrale, thermique, multispectrale et/ou SAR,
• Très bonne expérience dans le traitement d’images, le développement d’algorithmes, la manipulation grands jeux de données, le « Deep Learning » et/ou les analyses géospatiales,
• Forte connaissance des principes de télédétection, de transfert radiatif et/ou de correction atmosphérique,
• Forte connaissance de traitement de signal, d’analyses statistiques et d’analyses géospatiales,
• Bonne capacité de communication orale et écrite,
• Bonnes compétences de programmation en Python, et/ou Matlab.
• Bonnes compétences en ENVI, QGIS et/ou d’autres logiciels commerciaux ou libres en SIG et observation de la terre,
• Esprit critique, autonomie et capacité de fonctionnement multitâche.

NorthStar Earth and Space is expanding its EO team and looking to hire Remote sensing Scientists/Engineers with experience in hyperspectral, multispectral and/or SAR data processing, and in information extraction development in various applications such as mining, oil and gas, agriculture, forestry, water, and urban areas. These positions will support the end-to-end development of the NorthStar information services and will require experience in some of the following areas: image processing, hyperspectral analysis, machine-deep learning, change detection, and data fusion.

What you will do

• Develop, refine and/or implement methods for improving EO data quality,
• Develop, refine and/or implement information extraction algorithms using various sources of EO data from airborne and spaceborne platforms as well as auxiliary data,
• Develop, refine and/or implement methods for assessing the performances of information products,
• Collaborate with partners and clients, nationally and internationally

What you bring to the table

Education A Ph.D. in remote sensing, Physics, Earth Science, geography or fields related to remote sensing is required. A Master of Science Degree with at least 3 years hand-on experience will also be considered

Desired Skills

• Strong experience in hyperspectral, thermal, multispectral and/or SAR,
• Strong experience working with image processing, algorithm development, large data handling, deep learning, and/or geospatial analysis,
• In-depth knowledge of remote sensing principles, radiative transfer, and atmospheric correction,
• In-depth knowledge of signal processing, statistical analysis, and geospatial analysis
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal,
• Excellent programming Skills in Python, and/or Matlab,
• Excellent Skills in ENVI, QGIS, and/or in other commercial or open-source geospatial and EO processing software,
• Critical thinking, work autonomy and multitask handling.
