Sepal AI is assembling a panel of expert Database Architects to support a cutting-edge AI benchmark project. Your insights will help us evaluate how well today’s AI systems understand and reason through real-world, expert-level database architecture problems.
This is part of a short-term, high-impact project designed to assess AI safety and capabilities in complex technical fields. We’re looking for professionals who’ve done work designing, scaling, and optimizing database systems in production and can help create the kinds of tasks that separate real expertise from surface-level understanding.

This project is a great fit if you’ve ever:
-- Designed or optimized large-scale relational or NoSQL databases
-- Led data modeling, warehousing, or database migration efforts
-- Worked cross-functionally with dev teams to architect scalable solutions
-- Built schema from scratch and understand performance tradeoffs
-- Explained architectural decisions clearly to technical and non-technical teams
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
-- 4+ years full-time experience in a database architecture or equivalent role
-- English language fluency
-- U.S. residency
-- Access to a laptop or desktop computer with reliable internet
-- Technology proficiency: Comfortable with messaging, video calls, and file sharing
-- Able to follow detailed written instructions and complete online tasks independently
PROJECT DETAILS:
-- This is a short-term project running through December 29th
-- Total expected workload: 40–100 hours, flexible over the next 6–8 weeks
-- All engagements begin with a 2–4 day paid work trial
COMPENSATION AND LOGISTICS:
-- Hourly pay: $38–$152 per hour, plus task bonuses, based on experience and fit
