Role Overview

Dune Security is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead and scale a cross-functional team building secure, high-performance software at a venture-backed, mission-driven cybersecurity startup. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will drive technical execution, foster engineering excellence, and play a key role in shaping our product and infrastructure. Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 1–2+ years in a team lead or engineering management role.
• Strong backend expertise in Python (Django) and/or Go, with a solid understanding of scalable architecture.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms, preferably AWS (e.g., EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and Terraform.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks like React and Next.js.
• Solid grasp of authentication and authorization technologies (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML/SCIM).

Preferred

• Experience working in a startup or high-growth tech company.
• Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Recharts, Chart.js).
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB database design.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Understanding of software security principles and DevSecOps practices.
