The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer at Waitwhile, you will join a small but talented engineering team and work closely with our CTO and leadership. You will have a direct impact on the product and play a significant role in our mission to eliminate waiting.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the CTO, Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers to conceptualize and build new features for our growing user base.
• Produce high-quality results by contributing heavily to team projects that significantly impact the business.
• Own team features or systems and define their long-term health while improving the health of surrounding systems.
• Assist support and operations teams in triaging and resolving production issues.
• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience building web applications.
• Solid proficiency with programming languages such as Javascript/Typescript, Python, Go, Rust, or Java.
• Confidence in contributing to technical architecture discussions and driving technical decisions.
• Ability to write understandable, testable code with a focus on maintainability.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers.
• Strong computer science fundamentals.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Bonus Skills & Attributes

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Previous work at a startup or building a SaaS platform.
