About the Role

Job Title: Software Engineer, Traffic Simulation (m/w/d)
Location: Berlin, Berlin, Germany

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable and realistic traffic simulation environments for autonomous vehicle (AV) testing.
• Generate complex traffic scenarios and integrate real-world data with simulations.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Build a programmatic system that can automatically generate thousands of permutations of given scenario conditions.
• Combine formal verification, traffic rule formalization, and simulation-based testing.
• Implement realistic and interactive car, cyclist, and pedestrian agents.
• Integrate logged data replay with simulated agents.

Requirements

• MSc. in Computer Science or Mathematics (or related fields).
• Industry experience writing Python (C++ knowledge is beneficial).
• Experience with machine learning and applied deep learning.
• Experience with AV simulation frameworks (e.g., Carla).
• Knowledge of AV industry standards and regulations (e.g., OpenScenario, SOTIF, RSS).
• Experience in requirement analysis, test case writing, and software-in-the-loop testing.
• Experience with formal verification and temporal logics is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and teamwork abilities.
