Zoox is looking for a highly motivated software engineer to join our Advanced Hardware Engineering team and focus on building safety-critical automated test infrastructure. This includes developing hardware and software emulators for various sensors, and expanding validation frameworks. In this role, you will architect, design, code, document and own the work from start to finish. * Drive the development of Python-based automation frameworks and tools to streamline testing processes and system integration * Design and execute end-to-end verification strategies to ensure product quality and reliability * Architect, implement, and maintain robust C++ applications for embedded Linux systems, focusing on high-performance user space solutions * Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to build and enhance testing infrastructure, improving overall validation coverage and efficiency * Strong programming expertise in C++ and Python, with proven experience developing complex software systems * Demonstrated experience working with and contributing to large-scale codebases in a team environment * Extensive experience with Linux development, networking protocols, and system-level programming * Demonstrated proficiency with build systems, version control, and modern development workflows * Experience designing and implementing hardware/software integration test frameworks * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of industry experience * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Experience with real-time, low-latency, and safety-critical systems * Experience with Linux kernel development and device driver implementation * Experience with embedded software development for ARM cores using Xilinx SDK * Experience with Precision Time Protocol and Automotive Ethernet $142,000 - $245,000 a year There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
