As a Software Development Engineer in Test - Locomotion, you will:

Ensure the reliability and performance of ANYmal’s motion controllers through simulation-based testing.
Collaborate with a team of test automation engineers to enhance our modern CI/CD pipeline and simulation environments.
Take full responsibility for three dedicated testing spaces at our offices.
Validate new features rigorously, as testing on the robot and writing robust tests are core responsibilities.

Drive the test automation journey within your team by providing test tools and frameworks for fast, high-quality software releases.
Evolve our simulation-in-the-loop testing framework to decrease the sim-to-real gap and increase simulation performance.
Function as a respected sparring partner to enhance testability and overall quality of contributions.
Collaborate with fellow test automation engineers to create strategies that increase test coverage.
Maintain and extend testing facilities and participate in manual testing campaigns as needed.

Engineering or science degree with a focus on computer science, robotics, or similar.
Excellent knowledge of software quality assurance and test automation.
Strong experience in testing complex mechatronic systems in simulation.
Proficient in C++ and Python with a solid understanding of testable code design.
Familiarity with robotic simulators (e.g., Gazebo, Isaac Sim).
Good understanding of Linux, Git, and CI/CD.
Experience with issue tracking and test management tools.

Experience with ROS.
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with MLOps (e.g., for reinforcement learning).
Basic understanding of control theory and/or simulation algorithms.
