We are seeking a talented team player to become our next front-end focused software developer. This role offers the opportunity to significantly contribute to the architecture, development, and ongoing support of some crucially important Solutions here at Verily. If you have solid experience with React, modern web development methodologies, and maybe even micro front end development we’d love to hear from you! * Collaborate within an agile team to iteratively design, develop, and enhance core systems and user interfaces, including the application platform and support for scientific workflow engines. * Build scalable and maintainable solutions using modern technologies such as Go, Java, React, TypeScript, Docker, and Terraform. * Serve as a subject matter expert on React-based front-end development, guiding best practices and contributing to the evolution of Verily’s user interface architecture. Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in software development. * 2+ years of experience with modern web technologies, including programming in TypeScript or JavaScript and building applications using frameworks such as React. * Exposure to backend/service-tier languages such as Go, C#, C++, Java, or Python, with an understanding of full-stack development principles. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences. * Demonstrated ability to thrive in collaborative team environments, showing initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to shared goals. * Experience building, managing, and deploying containerized applications, with proficiency in orchestrating Docker containers and troubleshooting related issues. * Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and services, particularly Google Cloud Platform (or AWS), including compute (e.g., Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run), storage (e.g., Cloud Storage, Persistent Disk), and networking (e.g., VPC, Load Balancing), with the ability to design and manage scalable applications. * Proficiency in developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting applications and services built with Node.js, with the ability to evolve solutions to meet changing requirements.
