Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Hyperspectral Imaging, based in Noida. The SME will be responsible for providing expertise in hyperspectral imaging applications, conducting research and data analysis, and collaborating with engineering teams to develop innovative solutions. Duties also include overseeing data collection using UAVs, interpreting hyperspectral data for various industry applications, consulting with clients, and ensuring projects are completed successfully and efficiently.
Location – Noida and Central, Northeast, Western, Eastern Zone- India (with field coordination as required)
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
· Hyperspectral & LiDAR Survey Strategy
o Design and validate hyperspectral survey methodologies.
o Define spectral ranges, band selection, spatial resolution, and acquisition parameters.
o Ensure interoperability between hyperspectral datasets and Airborne LiDAR outputs.
· Hyperspectral Data Processing & Calibration
o Oversee radiometric, atmospheric, and geometric correction.
o Ensure sensor calibration, noise reduction, and spectral normalization.
· Biodiversity & Ecosystem Assessment
o Forest cover degradation and fragmentation analysis.
o Identification of ecologically sensitive zones.
o Generate tree and vegetation health maps using hyperspectral indices, including:
NDVI, RedEdge NDVI, ARI, CRA, SIPI, WBI
Assess vegetation stress, degradation patterns, and recovery potential in post-mining zones.
· Forestry, Biomass & Carbon Sequestration Analysis
o Forest type and canopy condition mapping.
o Above-ground biomass estimation.
o Carbon stock and sequestration potential assessment.
· Integration with LiDAR & GIS
o Integration with DEM, DSM, and Canopy Height Models.
o 2D and 3D visualization of biodiversity and carbon outputs.
Proficiency in Hyperspectral Processing Software
o ENVI / ENVI Hyperspectral Module
o ERDAS IMAGINE (Spectral Analyst / Hyperspectral tools)
o PCI Geomatica (Hyperspectral & image analysis modules)
