Course Description:
Components of highway pavements; ground water and drainage for highway facilities; soil compaction and stabilization; aggregates; bituminous materials; asphalt mix design; flexible and rigid pavement design; embankment design.
Three lectures, one tutorial (two hours), one lab (three hours); one term
Required Qualifications:
Applicants should hold a Masters degree, preferably a PhD, in Civil Engineering, with an advanced knowledge in the course subject area.Applicants must have a demonstrated background and thorough understanding of the course topics listed above, as well as demonstrated expertise teaching undergraduate courses. Professional Engineering registration is an asset. Strong communication skills and an ability to work with students on a one-on-one basis are essential.
