Responsibilities

• Develop new and improved computational tools to advance Chemify platform capabilities.
• Contribute to virtual screening and multi-parameter hit to lead optimization for small molecules.
• Actively participate as a key intellectual contributor in drug discovery teams.
• Devise and implement testable hypotheses for medicinal chemistry design strategies.
• Conduct research in machine learning and molecular modeling relevant to drug discovery.
• Integrate experimental data and apply computational approaches for molecular insights.
• Conduct scientific research in cheminformatics and molecular modeling.
• Contribute to the overall CADD strategy and its implementation.
• Develop ad-hoc solutions to automate drug design.
• Collaborate with chemists and stakeholders to enhance drug discovery campaigns.
• Interface with clients to ensure the Chemify platform meets their needs.
• Communicate with Business Development, Commercial, and Leadership teams to align on value creation.
• Plan, supervise, and execute scientific or technical projects.
• Work with software teams to develop automation platform modules and execute test plans.
• Initiate the development of new and efficient processes for drug design and automation.
• Document experiments accurately and promptly according to company standards.
• Adapt to changing company priorities and participate in the development of a transformative start-up.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in computational chemistry, chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry, computer science, or related fields.
• Demonstrated track record in building tools for drug discovery.
• Proficiency in Python for scientific computing, including:
  • Syntax/semantics
  • Data types and structures
  • Object-oriented programming concepts
  • Functions and modules
  • Testing and coverage
  • Backend development
• Experience in leading drug discovery campaigns.
• Solid knowledge of machine learning best practices.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience using major deep learning frameworks.
• Strong analytical thinking skills and a methodical approach to challenges.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS.
• Enthusiasm for learning new approaches and working with experimental automation platforms.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English.

• Experience in portfolio projects from R&D to IND.
• Strong foundation in computational chemistry.
• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) with a successful project track record.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with team members, stakeholders, and external partners.
• Experience leading a small team of chemists or managing synthesis projects.
