The Opportunity at Altana

The Engineering team is responsible for building platforms, APIs, services, workflows, and customer-facing applications. You will collaborate with Data Scientists on projects involving world-scale datasets and develop scalable code and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Ingest product requirements and define technical requirements.
• Work with product managers to develop implementation plans.
• Maintain, develop, and deploy customer-facing workflows.
• Analyze and propose technical solutions to enhance product offerings.
• Automate, test, and deploy your own and your team’s work.
• Review code and technical designs authored by team members.
• Mentor developers and help them improve their skills.
• Ensure technical excellence in day-to-day work and team deliverables.
• Drive technical decision-making and problem-solving.
• Identify technical and operational gaps and create plans to address them.
• Serve as a domain expert for a portion of the product surface area.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience writing back-end or data-driven software.
• Experience deploying production code and services in cloud environments.
• Proven track record of delivering incremental releases from proof-of-concept to production.
• Strong focus on engineering excellence, clean code, and knowledge-sharing.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks and tools (Typescript, Next.js, React Query, Storybook).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience leading engineers on complex projects.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary Range: $195,000 - $260,000 USD
