About the Role

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer, Marketplace
Location: Helsinki, Uusimaa, Finland

Responsibilities

• Architect and own the backend of the marketplace platform, from designing core services to optimizing high-scale APIs that power real-time buyer and seller experiences.
• Lead the development of asynchronous, distributed systems that are resilient, secure, and built for scale.
• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and design teams to turn bold ideas into seamless backend solutions.
• Drive performance and reliability, ensuring uptime and speed across critical marketplace features like payments, listings, and user matching.
• Mentor and support other engineers, sharing knowledge and raising the bar across the backend team.
• Contribute to strategic tech decisions, from choosing the right tools to defining long-term architecture for growth.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing complex, asynchronous backend systems, particularly using Node.js.
• Solid understanding of React; experience with React Native is a definite plus.
• Exposure to Golang is advantageous.
• Background in building eCommerce systems.
• Knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) systems is a strong plus.
• Experience in database design and architecture.
• Experience with API design and integrations.
• Passion for solving real-world problems.
• Good communication skills and experience working with international teams.
