This position reports to the Director of Engineering and is open to candidates located anywhere in the continental US.

What You Will Do At Jasper

• Design, develop, and deploy features that leverage the latest in AI and machine learning technologies, working on core areas of the Jasper platform (e.g., content generation, collaboration tools, data pipelines, or integrations)
• Work directly with large language models, natural language processing, and generative AI systems
• Solve complex technical challenges that push the boundaries of what AI can accomplish
• Write clean, maintainable code that solves intricate problems with elegant solutions
• Take ownership of critical features from conception through deployment and beyond
• Optimize performance and proactively address scale challenges as our platform grows
• Collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate user needs into technical solutions
• Prototype rapidly to validate new AI capabilities and user experiences
• Contribute to architectural decisions that will guide Jasper's technical evolution
• Take initiative in identifying opportunities to improve our development processes and AI implementations
• Work closely with product and design partners to deliver projects

What You Will Bring To Jasper

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, preferably in a VC-backed startup environment
• Strong proficiency in our tech stack: Typescript(Node JS), NestJS Framework, Python
• Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply these approaches
• Proven track record of delivering software that creates real value for users
• Comfort navigating ambiguity through rapid prototyping and iterative development
• Experience scaling applications and addressing performance challenges
• Strong communication skills and experience working effectively with cross-functional partners
• A passion for continuous learning and improvement in fast-moving technology landscapes

Compensation Range At Jasper, we believe in pay transparency and are committed to providing our employees and candidates with access to information about our compensation practices. The expected base salary range offered for this role is $187,000 - $220,000. Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, competencies, and certifications.
