The Role

This is seat #2 in sales. You will report directly to the founders, own a huge territory, and build the go-to-market playbook alongside us. There is no inherited pipeline, no oversized SDR team handing you qualified meetings, and no clear playbook to follow. What there is: a platform professors love, a market that is ready, and real equity in a company that is moving.

You will spend roughly 50% of your time on the road, up to 75% during active semesters (January to May and August to December). Campus selling is core to this role. You need to love it. You need to be hungry. 

What You'll Do

• Own your territory end to end: prospecting, campus visits, demos, negotiation, and close.
• Get in front of faculty, department chairs, and academic technology leaders through outbound calls, emails, and in-person campus visits. Leverage AI as you wish, but keep it human!
• Run sharp, consultative demos that connect Edvisor's platform to what professors actually care about.
• Bring field intelligence back to the founders to sharpen positioning, pricing, and product direction.
• Represent Edvisor at higher education conferences and build the kind of relationships that compound over time.

About You

• 3-5+ years in education sales with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding quota.
• You care about the mission. Affordability, accessibility, and preparing students for an AI-driven world are not talking points to you.
• You have sold content or software solutions into higher education before. You know how faculty buy, why they stall, and how to move a deal forward without burning the relationship.
• You are the kind of person who figures things out. Early-stage means no hand-holding, and that energizes you rather than worries you.
• You can hold a room with a provost and build trust with an adjunct professor in the same afternoon.
• Valid driver's license. Ready to travel 50%+, up to 75% during active semesters. Live in Chicago, Atlanta or DC.

Bonus Points

• You have closed enterprise deals at the department, dean, or institutional level and bring a rolodex of meaningful relationships.
• You have competed against or sold alongside Top Hat, Pearson, or Packback.
• You have worked in a startup before and know what it means to be employee number X.

Compensation and Equity

OTE is $90,000 to $150,000 USD with uncapped commission. But the real upside is equity. You are joining early; you will have meaningful impact. We also offer a full benefits package and unlimited, flexible PTO.
