Role Overview:

The Proposal Manager will be responsible for leading the preparation, coordination, and submission of high-quality technical and commercial proposals in response to RFI/RFQ/RFPs from customers, primarily OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. The role requires strong collaboration across engineering, sales, procurement, and finance teams to ensure proposals are compliant, competitive, and aligned with company strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end proposal process from opportunity identification to final submission.
• Analyze RFI/RFQ/RFP documents to understand customer requirements, scope, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, procurement, finance, and operations) to gather technical and cost inputs.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
• Develop and maintain standard proposal templates, pricing models, and documentation.
• Ensure proposals align with company capabilities, commercial policies, and strategic goals.
• Track proposal status, maintain records, and generate regular reports for management review.
• Lead internal review meetings and manage proposal timelines and version control.
• Support the sales and business development team during customer discussions and clarifications.
• Continuously improve proposal quality, competitiveness, and efficiency of the bid process.

Preferred candidate profile

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of automotive / ADAS / embedded systems (or relevant technical domain).
• Excellent communication, coordination, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in preparing technical and commercial proposals.
• Ability to interpret complex RFP/RFQ requirements.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and documentation management skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electronics / Automotive) or related field.
• MBA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in proposal management, bid management, or pre-sales within the automotive, engineering, or technology domain.
• Experience in handling OEM or Tier-1 customer proposals is highly desirable.
