Waymo's Product Data Science team works cross-functionally with Engineering, Product and Operations to help the company make the most informed decisions using data. Our team collaborates on high-impact projects across the company — from driving quality and operational efficiency to market analysis and rider satisfaction scores — we help to safely and efficiently scale the Waymo Driver. We are data-driven, curious, open-minded, and adapt quickly to new information. - Partner with Data Science, Engineering, Product and Operations teams to develop the fleet scheduling and orchestration models for Waymo - Build sophisticated Optimization models to decide when to launch and recharge vehicles, match vehicles to depots, and control traffic within the depots - Build Machine Learning models to predict the future state of the fleet - Use Statistics and Data Analytics to determine the performance of the model - Present on a regular basis to Waymo leadership - Experience with Optimization modeling and implementation using solver packages (e.g. CP-SAT, CPLEX, Gurobi, etc.) - Coding skills (Advanced Python and SQL) - Statistics and Machine Learning knowledge - Ability to structure and solve ambiguous problems - Demonstrated experience communicating and collaborating with different stakeholders and senior leadership - At least 4+ years of relevant experience - Experience with experimentation - Experience at another Ride hailing or Marketplace company - Experience with fleet management systems - Experience with autonomous traffic management systems The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
