Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Powertrain Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. This on-site, full-time role involves designing, developing, and optimizing powertrain systems for eVTOL aircraft. Responsibilities include conducting system-level analysis, overseeing mechanical engineering designs, performing calibration and testing, and ensuring compliance with aviation safety and performance standards. The engineer will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions to meet KYLEWORTH Aero's cutting-edge goals in electric aviation.

Qualifications

Extensive expertise in Powertrain systems and Mechanical Engineering
Strong analytical skills to conduct system-level performance and safety analysis
Proven experience in Calibration and Testing of powertrain systems
Solid understanding of advanced propulsion systems and clean energy technologies
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
Experience with aviation safety standards and compliance is a plus
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team
