About the Role

Job Title: Senior Platform Engineer
Salary: £80,000 - £105,000
Work Model: Hybrid (encouraged on-site 2 days per week, typically Tuesdays and Thursdays)

Responsibilities

• Share responsibility for the stability, scalability, security, and efficiency of Attest’s platform infrastructure.
• Collaborate with platform team members and others to scope, prioritize, and deliver technical enhancements.
• Identify blocks that hinder engineers from delivering effectively and improve workflow efficiency.
• Deliver tactical improvements, including:
  • Optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automating and improving AWS/EKS infrastructure with Terraform and Pulumi.
  • Responding to incidents and maintaining platform documentation.
• Improve developer tooling to enhance engineers' confidence in using available tools.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of the platform and infrastructure as the company grows.
• Stay updated with key technological developments in the industry.
• Ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
• Support and mentor a strong culture of development within the platform team.

Key Responsibilities

• Set a clear platform roadmap tied to business goals, incorporating governance, security, and reliability.
• Own projects end-to-end, working autonomously while keeping stakeholders informed.
• Communicate complex ideas in plain language for engineers, leaders, and external partners.
• Remove friction for development teams by building shared tools and two-way integrations.
• Maintain a positive, collaborative mindset, prioritizing impactful work.

Tools and Technologies

• Linux, AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud networking (ideally for SaaS applications).
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Programming languages: Python, Golang, or JavaScript.
• CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitOps (e.g., GitHub actions or ArgoCD).

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar leadership role, ideally in a scale-up or fast-growth environment.
• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in infrastructure, architecture, and system design.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of driving efficiency and collaboration.
• Track record of successfully scaling systems while maintaining a high bar for quality.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, security best practices, and cloud-based technologies (AWS preferred, but transferable skills from Azure and GCP are acceptable).
