Orbital Materials develops advanced materials and chemical processes by bridging the worlds of AI, Mechanical and Chemical engineering. We’re looking for ambitious thinkers and builders; those excited by the challenge of bridging AI and industry, chemistry and computation, discovery and deployment.
Our mission is to usher in an era where new advanced materials are no longer discovered, but are engineered with AI and we’ll use this to build technologies that solve major global technology challenges.
Joining Orbital Materials means working at the intersection of deep tech, applied science, and engineering innovation. We are a truly global organisation with teams in London (UK), San Francisco (CA) & Princeton (NJ), building teams in ML Research and Product Development to Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, offering opportunities for talented individuals who want to shape the future of materials and their applications in high-impact industries.
Orbital Materials is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and optimize advanced modular data centers, focusing on revolutionary two-phase direct-to-chip cooling applications leveraging Orbital's proprietary fluid discoveries, and developing dual-use chiller systems for simultaneous data center cooling and carbon capture.
This role involves hands-on participation in cutting-edge research, including design and layout of mechanical systems for data center equipment and actively participating in and conducting lab experiments to verify the validity and performance of our modular data centers, novel cooling solutions and integrated carbon capture systems.
Key Responsibilities Mechanical Systems Design for Modular Data Centers and Cooling Solutions
Design and Thermodynamic Analysis for Cold Plate Cooling Systems
Design, Selection and Analysis of Refrigeration Systems
