Job Summary:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Marble, you will lead the design and development of advanced automation systems for intelligent food processing solutions. You will work at the intersection of mechanical engineering, industrial controls, robotics, machine vision, and AI-driven software to build machines capable of operating reliably in demanding real-world environments.
Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
7+ years of experience designing machinery or industrial equipment
Strong 2D and 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Autocad, or similar)
Knowledge of tolerance stackups and mechanical analysis
Experience taking mechanical systems from concept through fabrication and testing
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, welding, sheet metal, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing equipment for food or sanitary processing environments
Familiarity with hygienic design principles and washdown equipment
Other Qualifications:
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to manufacturing facilities
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to easily maneuver around and under equipment
Must be comfortable operating in a food processing environment

Design mechanical systems and mechanisms for food processing machinery and robotic automation equipment
Own mechanical architecture from concept through production deployment
Design robotic cutting systems for meat processing
Design conveyor and product handling systems integrated with AI vision technology
Design hygienic mechanical systems suitable for washdown and food-safe environments
Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and fabrication drawings
Specify components, including motors, bearings, actuators, and structural elements
Prototype and iterate mechanical concepts through hands-on testing and development
Perform mechanical analysis, including load cases, tolerancing, and material selection
Design layouts for production equipment and automated cells within food processing facilities
Collaborate with electrical, controls, and software engineers to ensure successful system integration
Work directly with machinists, welders, and vendors to manufacture components
Support assembly and commissioning of machines
Develop test plans and validation procedures for mechanical systems
Conduct performance testing, root cause analysis, and iterative design improvements
Troubleshoot mechanical systems during commissioning and production use
Produce clear engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and design documentation
Ensure designs are robust, maintainable, and safe for industrial environments
Support continuous improvement of existing equipment
Mentor junior engineers and technicians
Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams
Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to travel as needed during system installation and commissioning
