About the Role Moonfare is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of advanced LLM-based capabilities across our platform. As a senior individual contributor, you'll partner closely with product and engineering teams to build intelligent automation, RAG pipelines, co-pilot assistants, and AI-native investor experiences.

This is a high-impact role in which you will take ownership of core technical decisions around model selection, architecture, and deployment, helping Moonfare transition into an AI-augmented fintech platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain LLM-powered solutions for investor communication, support, and backend automation.
• Implement RAG architectures using embedding models, vector stores, and prompt chaining.
• Fine-tune open-weight foundation models or adapt pre-trained APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic etc.) for Moonfare-specific domains.
• Evaluate and integrate cloud-native AI services, particularly AWS Bedrock, Textract, and Transcribe.
• Work with Security and Compliance teams to ensure secure, ethical, and compliant use of generative AI.
• Design, develop, and maintain LLM-powered applications across internal automation and investor-facing use cases..
• Drive model performance evaluation and tracking (latency, quality, cost, bias).
• Guide architectural and infrastructure decisions around prompt orchestration, caching, and versioning.

You Might Be a Fit If You

• Have 5+ years of experience in applied ML/AI roles, with 1-2 years building and integrating LLM-powered systems.
• Have hands-on experience with open-source LLM tooling (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face), as well as cloud-native stacks (e.g. AWS AI services).
• Are comfortable building production-grade inference pipelines and managing prompt engineering at scale.
• Understand how to structure RAG systems using vector databases (FAISS, Weaviate, Qdrant).
• Have a strong software engineering foundation (Python, CI/CD, container orchestration).
• You are excited by the challenge of transforming our expert human judgment using AI-assisted systems
• Familiarity with AI risk, safety, and governance frameworks - especially in regulated industries highly desirable.
