About the Role
Job Title: Senior In-Vivo Scientist – Microbiologist
Location: Paris, France
Employment Type: Full-time
As part of the Host-Microbiome interactions team, you will contribute to the generation of pivotal preclinical data to support the development of Eligo’s programs towards the clinic, and to discovery work supporting the entry of new programs into Eligo's portfolio. You will report to the Senior Director of Host-Microbiome interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and oversee hands-on experiments across in vivo (rodents), ex vivo (human or rodent primary cells and tissues), and in vitro (cell lines, bacterial cultures) models.
- Analyze, interpret, and effectively communicate experimental findings at various meetings involving multidisciplinary teams and/or collaborators.
- Independently plan experimental paths forward, proactively develop and/or optimize methods, and incorporate new technology/techniques into practice.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentation materials, and maintain meticulous experimental documentation in electronic lab notebooks.
- Contribute to scientific review meetings and assist in drafting relevant sections of regulatory documents.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
- PhD in Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, or related fields with a track record of publications.
- Extensive experience in rodent models of host-pathogen or host-microbiome interactions.
- Regulatory Animal training up to date (study design and/or execution).
- Postdoctoral training or previous drug discovery or development experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical company is highly advantageous.
- Hands-on experience in models of bacterial colonization of the intestine or skin is advantageous.
- Experience with Clostridia species and digital droplet PCR (ddPCR) is advantageous.
- Ability to design and run experiments, interpret data, troubleshoot, and suggest next steps.
