Role Description: Senior Financial Analyst

A Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing an organization’s financial performance, providing insights to support decision-making, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. This role involves preparing detailed financial reports, performing complex financial modeling, and working closely with management to improve financial efficiency and profitability. The Senior Financial Analyst typically oversees junior analysts, mentors team members, and ensures that all financial data is accurate, consistent, and in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Financial Modeling: Expertise in creating and maintaining complex financial models to forecast future financial performance, assess investment opportunities, and evaluate risks.
• Data Analysis: Strong ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and extract actionable insights that influence business strategy and decisions.
• Financial Reporting: Experience in preparing financial statements, budget reports, variance analysis, and providing regular updates to senior leadership.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Ability to assist in the development of budgets, track expenses, and forecast financial performance based on historical data and market conditions.
• Analytical Skills: Advanced skills in interpreting financial data, identifying potential issues, and providing solutions to improve financial outcomes.
• Attention to Detail: High accuracy when reviewing financial data, reports, and documentation to ensure correctness and compliance.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with financial software and tools like Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, etc.), SAP , Oracle , QuickBooks , or other ERP systems. Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau for data visualization is a plus.
• Knowledge of Financial Standards: Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS) and financial regulations. Awareness of tax laws, compliance, and financial reporting standards is essential.
• Presentation Skills: Ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders, senior management, and executives.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with different departments, explain financial concepts, and advise on business decisions.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot financial discrepancies, assess risks, and suggest corrective actions or improvements.
• Project Management: Ability to lead or participate in special financial projects, streamline financial processes, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Leadership: Experience managing or mentoring junior analysts, providing guidance on financial analysis and modeling, and fostering team collaboration.
• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Finance , Accounting , Economics , or a related field is typically required. Advanced certifications like CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) , MBA , or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) are highly valued.
• Experience: Typically 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related financial role. Experience in strategic financial planning, reporting, and forecasting is essential, especially for a senior-level position.
