Your task is the ruthless pursuit of blockchain identity labels through powerful modelling.

Your days are split between our proprietary dataset and on-chain developments, identifying the most effective models to build and building them.

Your team’s success is measured by the scale and value of the intelligence you generate and how well you can liaise with clients and partners to capture requirements. This intelligence powers everything we sell and everything we say here at Elliptic.

Key Responsibilities

What you will do:

• Stay abreast of technical developments on chain and in the ecosystem through continuous research.
• Use the knowledge you gain above to identify new tools and models to build. Prioritise based on efficiency, unit economics and value to our business.
• Work in a highly collaborative global team with engineers, blockchain analysts, data scientists, researchers. Your shared goal is creating intelligence, each contributing in different ways.
• Be deeply opinionated about where we’re spending our time (as the above team in particular, but also as a company), and how we can increase the value of our intelligence.
• Own your time and output based on the above. Is your time better spent today building a model or researching a new more powerful model?
• Participate in a collegiate group of blockchain experts, share your knowledge across our business and with our customers wherever it is effective.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

You will be a great fit here if you:

• Are highly curious and sceptical.
• Have experience digging into huge datasets, spotting quirks in the data and pulling the thread - finding the truth.
• Can focus only on analysis or models which will be useful for our business - cut through the noise.
• Are entrepreneurial and create connections, both internally and within the community. Are very interested in Cryptocurrencies.

Our ideal candidate:

• Has a STEM degree.
• Has experience defining effective metrics, monitoring the results and optimising accordingly.
• Is comfortable querying data with SQL and Python.
• Is comfortable using LLMs and has demonstrable AI development practical experience
• Is comfortable building big data systems and liaise with the relevant teams to bring them to production Has a solid understanding of blockchain ecosystem elements like DeFi, Exchanges, Wallets, Smart Contracts, mixers and privacy services.

Bonus Experience:

• Databricks and PySpark
• Building and maintaining data pipelines
• Capture data requirements and build ad-hoc systems
• Use of graph analytics and graph neural networks
• Experience building agentic systems in the LangChain ecosystem
• Are confident when presenting findings to stakeholders of varying technical expertise
• Applied and advanced professional experience using data science and data exploitation techniques to analyse crime in cryptocurreny
