Job Summary:
Oracle is a world leader in cloud solutions committed to energy efficiency and carbon footprint reduction. They are seeking a Senior Data Integration Engineer to work closely with utility partners, integrating data with the Opower platform and customizing applications for their specific needs.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with utility and internal project teams on data integrations for energy efficiency product implementations
• Explain technical specifications of Opower data integration and products - including highlighting risks with customer experience when requirements are not met
• Analyze, transform, and load utility provided data to meet Opower's data requirements for a successful delivery of downstream end-user communications and web experiences
• Develop new or maintain tooling (in ruby or python) to make our data integration and product implementations more cost & time effective
• Configure and customize existing data ingest platform to meet the specific needs of each utility client
• Develop a deep understanding of our products and their data requirements with the ability to explain them to others with non-technical backgrounds
• Improve the speed and quality of our data integrations by optimizing the ingest processes and writing useful documentation.
• Provide leadership to offshore implementation teams by promoting consistency across projects, including methodology, data analysis, and custom integration solutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Solid understanding of relational databases
• Comfortable with advanced UNIX commands
• Basic programming experience
• Expertise in writing effective SQL or Hive queries to analyze large relational datasets
• Experience writing data transformation scripts using ETL tools
• Prioritizes data quality and crafts test plans tailored to integration and product requirements
• Proficient in Unix/Linux command-line to perform advanced file searches and text manipulation
• Understand code versioning concepts and have used tools like git
• Familiar with Jenkins CI/CD concepts and deployment tools like Nomad
• Skillful at troubleshooting software applications that involve APIs, databases, and frontend
• Working knowledge of managing data in any of the cloud systems like OCI, AWS etc.
• Experience writing software tools using object-oriented programming
• Driving and responding to change such as crafting solutions using different pieces of information gained from multiple sources
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives and drive resolution of cross-team issues
• 8+ years of professional experience with 2 years of technical leadership
Preferred:
• Experience with a Utility CIS system
