Summary We are the Engineering and Technical Resources unit that provides engineering design and oversight of all capital projects within the Wastewater Treatment Division. We are dedicated public servants whose mission is to protect public health and enhance the environment by collecting and treating wastewater while recycling valuable resources for the Puget Sound region. This mission runs through all our work that requires tackling interesting and challenging projects. We instill a supportive work culture that is open to new ideas and methods.
About The Role Candidates will be involved in pump station upgrades, treatment plant upgrades, and conveyance projects. The following are some of the major on-going or upcoming projects: Replacement of turbo blowers at wastewater treatment facilities, addition of membrane clarification cassettes, pump station upgrades and replacements, anaerobic digestion expansion, sand filter rehabilitation, grit facility upgrades
Several upcoming projects will be delivered under non-traditional or collaborative delivery methods, such as General Contractor Construction Management and Progressive Design-Build.
This position follows a hybrid work model,]blending remote and in-person work.
About The Team King County Wastewater Treatment Division is one of the top wastewater utilities in the nation, involved in cutting edge technologies and approaches to conveyance, treatment, and reclamation of wastewater. WTD offers flexible working hours, union representation, pension plan, and a hybrid work-from-home and in-person schedule. King County provides a comprehensive benefits package that is largely employer-paid including Medical/Dental/Vision, Health Savings Plan (FSA), pension (WA State PERS), Life/AD&D and generous paid Vacation, Holiday, and Sick Leave Programs. The County also offers LTD and Supplemental Life plan participation. The value of this benefit package ranges between $20,000 and 40,000 annually, depending on whether you are single or have a family.
