Senior BI Engineer (Sofia)

We are looking for a Senior BI Engineer to take ownership of the architecture, scalability, and stability of a BI platform within an international company.

This role is for an engineer who:

sees BI not just as reporting, but as data infrastructure ,
can balance business needs, performance, and cost efficiency ,
feels strong ownership over production systems .

The Role

You will act as a key bridge between:

business stakeholders,
backend engineers,
analysts,

ensuring best practices across:

BI governance,
performance optimization,
data quality and security.

Key Responsibilities

Onboard new BI projects and data sources
Design data warehouse (DWH) architecture and data relationships
Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance
Optimize ETL workflows and SSAS analytical cubes
Manage and optimize BigQuery and GCP resources (cost and performance)
Develop and maintain BI dashboards (Power BI, Looker Studio)
Support production BI environments (including occasional after-hours support)

Requirements Must-have

Proven experience as a Senior BI Engineer, BI Developer, or BI Consultant
Deep expertise in SSAS (tabular & multidimensional)
Hands-on ETL experience
(Apache NiFi / Google Dataform / Google Dataflow is a strong plus)
Practical experience with BigQuery, GCP, SQL, and data warehousing
Experience supporting production BI systems

Nice-to-have

Experience with ML / AI integration
Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure costs
