AI System Integration

Required Qualifications Education & Background

• Computer Science degree OR exceptional work experience demonstrating equivalent technical depth

• Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical degrees are also welcomed with a strong programming foundation

• Strong preference for candidates who have started their own company, been a founding engineer, or worked extensively in startup environments

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, solve complex problems without hand-holding, while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

Technical Expertise

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with expertise in Python and API development
• Strong experience with FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python web frameworks
• Proven experience with cloud services
• Experience building and scaling RESTful APIs, handling high-volume traffic
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and optimization techniques
• Knowledge of Redis, caching strategies, and distributed systems design

System Design & Integration

• Experience with third-party API integrations and webhook management
• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed system patterns
• Knowledge of security best practices for sensitive data handling and API design
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and deployment automation
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience building systems for healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) and HIPAA compliance requirements
• Experience with high-scale data processing and real-time systems
• Background working with AI/ML systems and model serving infrastructure
• Experience with message queues, event-driven architectures, and async processing
