JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a talented and adaptable Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing Product Engineering team at Storyblok. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our flagship CMS platform, enabling businesses to create and deliver seamless digital content experiences. You will work closely with product owners, designers, and fellow developers to implement scalable server-side solutions, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.

We value engineers who bring strong backend expertise, are curious about new technologies, and thrive in a collaborative environment. Experience across multiple backend languages and frameworks, with a strong focus on Ruby on Rails (our primary backend framework), is highly regarded, as is experience in Python, Node.js, or similar. Exposure to AI-driven features, modern databases, or data-intensive workflows is also a plus.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Drive the next generation of Storyblok's customer-facing products and features by building scalable and reliable backend systems using modern technologies (primarily Ruby on Rails, additional experience in other programming languages, like Python, Rust, or Elixir valued).
