• Develop and validate analytical methods to perform laboratory analysis for raw materials, in-process and finished products by using analytical instruments such as NMR, GC, MS, HPLC, UV, IR, TGA and DSC
• Troubleshoot various instrumentations
• Perform and document all analytical test procedures/deviations/findings in compliance with SOPs
• Reporting all results and deviations encountered during analysis and suggests appropriate improvements to procedures
• Presenting data in an organized and accurate fashion (both verbal and written)
• Mentoring and supervising junior analytical chemists
• Maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment; ensuring the work complies with health and safety standards, and SOPs
• Ensure compliance with environmental policies, procedures, and objectives, and actively participate in the identification and reduction of environmental impacts related to the role
• Adhere to health and safety protocols, report hazards, and contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all employees

Profile

• MSc or PhD in chemistry or related science

Required Skills

• Must demonstrate a good understanding of basic chemistry such as chromatography and spectroscopic technologies
• Understanding of organic chemistry is desirable
• Strong ability to perform independent research of chemical literature
• Strong ability to lead projects
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant data processing programmes
• Knowledge and understanding of GMP/GLP is an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Fast learner, flexible, have a strong initiative and can-do spirit
• Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time
