Business Development Lead / Senior Manager, Biopharma Partnerships (Neuro)
Remote | Contract / Fractional (Preferred) or Full-Time
Overview
We are seeking a senior, commercially driven Business Development professional to originate, structure, and help close strategic partnerships with biopharma companies, with a focus on neuro-oncology and neurodegenerative disease.
This is a high-impact “hunter” role focused on building relationships with key decision-makers and driving
large, multi-phase engagements
. While early engagements may begin with smaller studies, the core objective is to establish long-term, high-value partnerships.
We are open to structuring this role as
fractional/contract or full-time
, with a preference for a contractor model to start.
Role Focus
- Build and convert a pipeline of strategic biopharma opportunities
- Engage senior stakeholders across: Business Development, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Strategy and Innovation
- Drive high-value deal creation, not high-volume outreach
- Help shape how engagements are structured, priced, and expanded over time
Required Experience
- 7–15+ years in business development, partnerships, or commercial roles within: Biopharma, CROs, life sciences services, or consulting
- Proven track record of: Closing or materially contributing to large, complex B2B deals, selling into pharma/biotech organizations and navigating multi-stakeholder environments
- Strong understanding of drug development and stakeholder landscape
Preferred Profile
- Existing network within neuro-oncology, CNS, or related therapeutic areas
- Experience structuring multi-phase or strategic partnerships
- Strong negotiation and deal-making capabilities
- Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable operating in an early-stage environment
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating closely with leadership
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Pipeline Developmen
t
- Identify and prioritize target pharma/biotech accounts within neuro/CNS
- Leverage existing network and targeted outreach to access decision-makers
- Relationship development: build trust with senior stakeholders across target organizations and establish credibility within the neuro-focused biopharma ecosystem
Deal Origination & Structuring
- Lead early-stage conversations and opportunity shaping
- Collaborate with internal leadership to define scope, pricing, and long-term
- partnership opportunities
Deal Progression & Closing Support
- Drive opportunities from initial engagement through proposal and negotiation
- Navigate complex stakeholder and procurement environments
Commercial Strategy Input
- Provide feedback on positioning, messaging, and market dynamics
- Help refine go-to-market approach based on real-world interactions
What Success Looks Like
- Development of a high-quality pipeline within target neuro-focused accounts
- Access to senior decision-makers across pharma/biotech organizations
- Progression and closure of large ($250K–$1M+) strategic engagements
- Establishment of long-term partnerships and expansion opportunities
