Sales Engineer – Quantum Application Software

About the Role
We are seeking a Sales Engineer to lead technical sales and customer engagements for Qunova’s quantum computing application software. This role operates at the intersection of technology and business, partnering closely with customers across Korea, Japan, USA, EMEA, and Southeast Asia.
You will help clients understand how quantum-powered applications (e.g., HI-VQE) can solve real-world challenges, while working cross-functionally with Qunova’s R&D, Product, and Sales teams.
Location: Seoul or Remote (Global) Reports to: Sales Lead and/or CPO Team: Sales Engineering / Customer Success
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Pre-Sales
· Analyze customer requirements and identify technical pain points
· Explain architecture, functionality, and use cases of Qunova’s quantum application software (e.g., HI-VQE)
· Prepare customized demos and lead PoC planning/execution
· Propose quantum-ready use cases for industries: finance, materials, drug discovery, logistics, manufacturing, and more
· Create/execute RFP responses, proposals, and technical presentations
2. Customer Success Engineering
· Support installation, environment setup, and integration workflows
· Assess customer HPC/Cloud environments (AWS Braket, Azure Quantum, etc.) and propose optimal integration strategies
· Conduct technical workshops, training sessions, and onboarding programs
· Collect customer feedback and relay insights to Product, PM, and Engineering teams
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Collaborate with Sales to build pipeline strategy
· Work with Marketing to produce technical content (white papers, case studies, webinars)
· Coordinate with R&D to validate technical requirements and customer-driven experiments
· Gather market VOCs to contribute to the product roadmap
4. Market & Tech Trend Analysis
· Track Quantum Computing trends (PQC, QML, QAOA, VQE, etc.)
· Benchmark competitors and identify differentiation opportunities
· Conduct quantum demand research for targeted industries
· Communicate technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences
Required Qualifications
· BA in Computer Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
· 3+ years in technical sales, solution engineering, or pre-sales (or exceptionally strong newcomer)
· Strong B2B communication skills—both technical and business-oriented
· Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely
· Programming experience (Python or similar)
· English proficiency suitable for global customer engagement
· Strong presentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
· Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Physics, Chemistry, or related fields
· Understanding of quantum computing principles
· Experience with quantum programming frameworks
· Hands-on experience with IBM Quantum / AWS Braket / Azure Quantum
· HPC, optimization, or scientific computation background
· Experience in a high-growth start-up environment
