Maven Bio builds domain-specific AI for the life sciences industry. Our clients include publicly-traded pharmaceutical companies, venture capital firms, and global consultancies. We're a YC-backed team based in Boston, and we're hiring our first SDR to build the outbound engine that drives our next phase of growth.
Why This Role Is Different
Most SDR roles are execution-only: follow the script, work the sequence, hand off leads. This isn't that.
Our founders have led sales from day one. We've closed pharma, consulting, and investment clients without a sales team. We're not hiring an SDR because we can't sell; we're hiring for additional leverage at the top of the funnel so we can close more. Founders will still be doing outbound alongside you.
You'll be our first SDR, which means you're not inheriting a playbook. You're building it. You'll work directly with founders to figure out what messaging lands, which segments convert, and how to scale what works. When something isn't converting, you'll be in the conversation about why and what to change.
The tradeoff: there's no established brand recognition to lean on. You're selling a product most prospects haven't heard of, into a market that's skeptical of AI claims. This is harder than carrying quota at a late-stage company. It's also where you learn the most, fastest.

We promote based on performance, not tenure. SDRs who consistently generate qualified pipeline and demonstrate they can run deals will move into closing roles. Our goal is for this to happen fast. We're scaling and need people who can grow with us.
