We're automating homebuilding. Our MicroFactory produces full-scale framing panels directly on the construction site - wall panels, floor panels, roof panels - manufactured on demand, in sync with the build. No factory. No trucking. No delays.

We've built technology that works and deployed it on real construction sites. Now we're growing our team and looking for the person to get our next generation MicroFactory production ready.

🪵 The Role

We're looking for a Robotics Software Engineer to join us on a short contract over the summer, working from our workshop in North-East London (Blackhorse Road). This is a contract role from June through mid-September 2026.

We're in the final stretch of development before shipping MicroFactories to customers. That means building features, managing edge cases, and hardening the system for real-world use. You'll be joining the team developing the software for our system, picking up work across the software stack and contributing wherever the priorities sit that week.

This isn't a greenfield research project. The system exists, it runs, and you'll be making it better. You'll work alongside mechanical and software engineers who know the system inside out. You'll need to get up to speed quickly and start contributing without a long ramp.

You will be expected to be on-site 5 days a week.

😎 What you'll do day-to-day

• Develop and integrate software for robotic manufacturing systems.
• Work within a ROS-based architecture to build features, fix bugs, and improve reliability.
• Help identify and handle edge cases before the system ships to customers.
• Test and validate software changes on physical hardware in the workshop.
• Collaborate closely with the engineering team on priorities as they shift.

• You've spent a few years writing software for physical systems, not just simulations.
• You're comfortable in ROS and can navigate a real codebase, not just tutorials.
• You pick things up fast. You don't need weeks of onboarding to start being useful.
• You're happy working on whatever's most important that day, not just your favourite part of the stack.
• You can work independently once pointed in the right direction.

📝 What you'll need

• A few years of professional experience in robotics software development
• Strong with Python and/or C++
• Experience deploying software on physical robotic systems

What will set you apart:

• Strong working knowledge of ROS2
• PLC programming, particularly Beckhoff/TwinCAT
• ABB robot programming (RAPID/RobotStudio)
• Computer vision in a robotics context: calibration, integration
• Familiarity with Jetson or similar embedded GPU platforms
• NVIDIA Isaac Sim and/or NVIDIA robotics stack experience
• Linux systems: Docker/containers, networking, device drivers
• Any combination of the above
