Physical Robotics builds intelligent humanoid robots that work safely alongside humans in real-world environments. The Pi robot uses force-controlled hands with high-bandwidth sensing, compliant actuators, model-based control, and data-driven policies to enable dexterity. It targets industries like manufacturing and healthcare and integrates with existing workflows and safety requirements. The platform emphasizes Physical Intelligence, transferring skills from simulation to reality. The company aims to scale deployment across logistics, field service, and other contact-rich tasks.

Physical Robotics | Norway (Oslo–Viken) | Core Team | Make History
We’re not hiring “an AI intern.” We’re recruiting a championship-minded AI engineer
.
Humanoid robots will become the next industrial revolution: Anew labor layer that can do real work in factories, logistics, and environments humans avoid. Most teams will build demos. A few will ship reliable humanoids in the real world
and that requires AI that works under real constraints: imperfect sensors, domain shift, limited data, latency, and safety.
We’re building that team.
Small team. High standards. Big ambition.
If you want a career where you can point to a new chapter in the humanoid industry and say “I helped build that”
The mission
Physical Robotics is a Norway-based humanoid robotics company founded by Dr. Phuong Nguyen
(ex–cofounder of 1X Technologies
) and backed by Skyfall Ventures
together with leading Norwegian industrial partners and investors. Our objective is to build a world-class humanoid
by unifying high-performance hardware
with physical intelligence
-the capability to perceive, plan, and act robustly in real-world environments.
We are building for the next inflection point: broad industrial deployment of humanoids in manufacturing and operations
. We expect adoption to accelerate in 2027–2028
, and our strategy is to arrive at that wave with a platform that is production-grade, scalable, and operationally reliable
-not a lab prototype. We benchmark ourselves against the strongest global players- Tesla, Figure, Boston Dynamics, Toyota, Xiaomi, 1X Technologies
-and we intend Physical Robotics to become a reference name the field follows.
At Physical Robotics, AI is not a research island. It is part of a system that touches reality: hardware, sensors, timing, compute limits, and safety. As a Junior AI Engineer, you will help build models, data pipelines, and evaluation systems that move us from experiments to deployable capability.
What you will own
Data → model pipeline:
preprocessing, dataset building, labeling strategy support, reproducible training runs
Model evaluation:
metrics that reflect reality, ablation discipline, error analysis, stress testing under domain shift
Deep learning implementation:
training and finetuning models in PyTorch / TensorFlow / JAX
Applied ML domains:
contribute to CV / NLP / signal processing
components depending on project needs
LLM post-training:
exposure to SFT
and post-training workflows for real tasks (not just demos)
Engineering discipline:
clean experiments, versioned configs, documentation, and results that others can reproduce
“Make History” tasks you might contribute to
Required (must-have)
Strong background in Mathematics, Computer Science (DSA, OOP, OS)
and AI/ML fundamentals.
Strong coding skill in Python/C++.
Familiar with deep learning frameworks: PyTorch / TensorFlow / JAX.
Experience in CV, NLP, or signal processing.
Familiarity with data preprocessing
and model evaluation.
Familiar with LLM post-training
and SFT.
Experience in handling noisy dataset
and time series dataset processing
.
High learning velocity: willingness to learn new techniques and execute fast.
Preferred (high-leverage
Top ranking in Kaggle
(competitions, notebooks, rankings)
Medal or track records in competitive programming ( Codeforces, AtCoder, etc.
) is a plus
Hands-on experience in training models from scratch (not just doing fine-tuning on pretrained models).
Publications in top tier conferences such as Neurips/ICLR/ICML/ICRA/ICCV/CVPR/ACL/BMVC is a plus.
Interest in robotics
or embodied A
The mindset we’re recruiting
This role is for people who want to compete at the top level because humanoids are a global race.
Why Physical Robotics
Core team impact:
your work contributes to the AI capability that defines the humanoid platform
Real-world focus:
models must survive reality, not just benchmarks
Competitive salary + incentive option program
Work at the intersection of robotics, hardware, ML, and deployment
A chance to help build technology the world will copy
Apply
If you’re driven by hard problems and high standards, apply even if you’re not sure you qualify. If you can solve, learn, and ship, we want to talk.
